Why we started
Pharmacists are doing extraordinary clinical work in the most rushed setting in healthcare. Every state pharmacy law requires patient counseling. Every pharmacist delivers it. And every pharmacist knows the same thing: most of it does not make the drive home.
There are reasons. The patient is in a hurry, or self-conscious, or does not speak the language the monograph is printed in, or will not admit they cannot read it. The drive-thru bypasses the counter. The discharge nurse delivers a five-minute explanation and is paged before the patient finishes the first sentence. The counseling was right. The timing was wrong.
We built MyMedSpark to extend the pharmacist’s counseling into the moment the patient actually needs it. SayTag attaches to the medication itself and delivers counseling at home, on the patient’s schedule. The pharmacist’s voice continues into the kitchen, where the patient actually opens the bottle
